Rise, the all new emotional and addictive first book in the Rise & Fall Duet from USA Today bestselling author Grahame Claire is available now!
I have it all.
As a titan of New York City real estate, there’s nothing out of my reach.
Money. Power. Success.
The rise to the top wasn’t easy, but I’ve overcome every obstacle in my way. Including the biggest one.
Then I met her.
She isn’t afraid to put me in my place. Doesn’t tip toe around me because of who I am.
And she’s there to witness the most humiliating moment of my life.
The thing about being on top is there’s a lot further to fall.
Someone wants to see me lose everything.
And they just may get their wish.
Because I can’t focus on anything except my sister’s best friend.

When I started reading this I felt like something was missing or I was missing something because I couldn’t understand what was going on. It felt like I was reading book 2 of a series that was left with a cliffhanger.
This duet feels like a companion duet rather that a standalone series because I feel like if I’d read Crash and Burn if have a better understanding of the plot and I didn’t felt that lost.
Now our mcs here are… Lincoln who was a grumpy cold hero but he was the softest teddy when it comes to Eric (our heroine’s brother) I loved that we got to see both sides of him, the ruthless in business and the softest one with Eric (and our heroine too) I really liked him as a hero.
Lexie… I never really warmed up to her and that’s partially because there were some things in the story that I didn’t understood like for example why she hated so much Lincoln especially when Eric seems to adored the guy.
This books is slow burn but like snail slow burn kinda of romance and being honest I’m more used to fast paced romance so I struggled a little but there too.
The cliffhanger was good because it left you wanting to read book two immediately so that’s a plus.
Overall it was a good book but I suggest you read Crash and Burn before diving into this one.
Thank you to Social Butterfly pr for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
